ABOUT US

Sandcastle Park offers full day programs for Infant/Toddler 6 to 36 months and Junior Kindergarten 2.5 to 5 years old. Our program was developed to teach children through sensorial and educational curricular activities using Montessori and Early Childhood philosophies in childcare settings.

At Sandcastle Park Children’s Centre we believe that family time with your children during the pinnacle of their childhood is valuable. We provide a stimulating, nurturing, and integrated educational environment with extended hours and a catered hot lunch program to accommodate hectic working schedules. Our goal is to give parents the opportunity to reclaim this precious time with their little ones.

History

SCP has been a part of the Richmond community since 2007. Limited class sizes, varied learning techniques and bringing together the best educational approaches makes SCP the place for little children with BIG dreams.

Core Values

We cherish the feelings and rights of those around us. Kindness is present in the things we do for others.

We seek to provoke lifelong growth and self-discovery that is linear to their confidence.

We believe that children should be led by high-minded individuals.

We demonstrate appreciation for all identities and their unique qualities and promote self-confidence.

Play is a vital feature throughout the lives of children and we want to inspire them to continue it as they reach adulthood.

Philosophy

  • SCP children’s centre touches on elements of Montessori and Reggio Emilia teaching methods which provides children with structure as well as freedom of exploration
  • Children are provided with the opportunity to learn through the core curriculum while replenishing with outdoor play, nap, and healthy nourishment
  • Children learn cooperation skills through social connections with others guided by the teachers’ gentle support and positive affirmations
  • Children’s emotional needs will be validated, their feelings respected, and accomplishments celebrated
  • Children learn through their 5 senses; exploring different mediums of problem-solving and taking on a course of action
